Do yourself a favor and forget the aftermarket pump and go Ford unless you want to take a chance in what it is.....
and yeah usually labor is 1 1/2 to 2 hours.. usually we get 2 hours at $75/hour and that's to change the fuel filter also (why use a trashed up filter on a new pump.. kind of like trying to blow thru a near solidly filled straw...)How long does it take to change a fuel pump on a 1998 ford explorer?fuel pump is in the tank. most of these places charge anywhere from 45 to 75 dollars an hour. and they have a book they go by on the time allowed for repairs. and if you carry your own part then they will stick it to you. why don't you just do it yourself. its simple just about a half days work if you never done it before. before i d pay 3 or 4 hundred for the job. id invest in a universal fuel pump and install it in between the tank and the motor. or buy the manual and do it the right way.
