I have an 86' chevrolet blazer s-10 2.8 fuel injected 4x4 , do you need a certain amount of gas to crank?

i changed the fuel pump and cleaned tank how much gas does it need to crank up and do you have to prime it? if so how many timesI have an 86' chevrolet blazer s-10 2.8 fuel injected 4x4 , do you need a certain amount of gas to crank?I think the gas tank is smaller like 15 gallons. And shaped different so if the total was 5 gallons it would be enough to just get started. The fuel pump would run when energized by ignition switch ON. Then the pump would continue until the fuel hose is full, which then increases pressure.

The pump runs until the pressure is high enough for the fuel pressure switch and regulator.

You can turn the ignition ON until the pump stops. Then OFF. Then ON once more and the fuel pump won't run as long because the air is out, and the pressure is high now.
