Please help i have a 2003 lancer evolution 8 and i was driving on the freeway 12:30 at night cruising out of town and i get on top of the hill where a cop usually hides so i let off the throttle to check to see if he was there. he wasnt there so i go to accelerate and nothing i look down at my gauges and my dash lights are on and my car is off. No bang no pop no hesitation no sputter no nothing. it was like someone reached over and shut the key off on me????
Now it wont start turns over but no start. it will start with starting fluid and will run if you feather the throttle a little bit but if you put to much throttle it wants to die.
Things i have checked and done.
*Changed fuel pump with a new walbro 255 lph
*Drained fuel and put in new
*Changed spark plugs
Checked
*has Fuel to fuel rail how much Pressure?? tried three pumps.
*pinched return line on fuel regulator
*has spark how strong ???
*checked timming marks on cam gears not on crank checked good
has no check engine lightPlease help my car wont start?sounds like a security module problem. make sure security light goes out before trying to start. module will shut down computer causing all those problems. will also let it run on starting fluid for 5 seconds only then it shuts off systemPlease help my car wont start?it could be the fuel filter. even though your getting gas through the regulator but maybe not enough or it could be the coil not producing enough spark to fire the plugs.Please help my car wont start?try your fuel pump relay fuse it should be under the hood.Please help my car wont start?Is there a security light on?Check injector pulse.You can use a test light.Unplug an injector connector(should be a 2 wire plug).Plug the test light in series with the injector connector.Have someone crank the vehicle and see if the test light pulses or lights.You should have power on one wire and ground on the other while its cranking.Also check to see if you have engine rpm on the tach.May have bad crank sensor or security issue.update us with what you find
