1999 Tahoe fuel pump starter problem? Fuel pump will not work when car is cold, any ideas of the problem?

We have changed the fuel pump four times this year. It does not hold it's 60 PSI, it slowly drops. The relay was changed with the last fuel pump change. It ran OK for a while. Now when the car is cold the fuel pump will not work (no sound at all). Once it warms up the car will start but slowly looses its psi. The fuel pressure regulator was also changed. It slowed down how much pressure was lost but did not stop the loss of psi. Where do I go from here. Any solutions or suggestions? I also have a problem with coolant loss. I don't know if it is somehow related or doesn't matter at all. The leak is slow and I have not been able to find out where it is. I have to put more water/coolant in every couple of weeks other wise I have no heat. Any in put would be appreciated. Thank you, Tina1999 Tahoe fuel pump starter problem? Fuel pump will not work when car is cold, any ideas of the problem?ok have u replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the injectors?sometimes if the filter is clogged the fuel pump cant deliver the fuel to the motor therefore causing the pump to mess up.Also as far as ur antifreeze goes,if u dont see any signs of leaks anywhere, try replacing the radiator cap itself.Because, they have a seal around the inside of it that can go bad and not hold pressure, therefore causing ur antifreeze to evaporate out the cap.1999 Tahoe fuel pump starter problem? Fuel pump will not work when car is cold, any ideas of the problem?First things first! Are you buying new Del-co OEM fuel pumps or cheaper substandard after market fuel pumps?

Next item if the fuel pump is not coming on when the ignition is turned on it means you are not completing the circuit. Have you had the electrics checked. Could be ignition switch not making good contact are you having to turn it off and on several times to get it to work?, could be corrided connection (connector). unless the system is staying prssured up. Have you changed the fuel filter? Been using cheap gas and got trash in your fuel tank causing you fuel filter to stop up!

Slowly losing pressure indicates you might have a fuel filter stopping up because you are takin pressure reading at the engine behind the fuel filter not ahead of it.

Next time it does that when it is cold take off your gas cap then put it back on a see what happens. And don't forget to tighten it unitl it rachets. If it still doesn't start working try breaking the gas line loose ahead of the fuel filter and see what happens. If that doesn't work, Next time you stop it over night hook up your fuel pressure gauge and leave it hooked up. Before you try to start it cold check your fuel pressire and see what it reads. It should be down to zero or close to it. If system it still pressured up your CPI mostly likely has trash in it.

Sounds to me like you have gotten a bunch of trash in your gas tank from buying cheap gas and it is getting into your fuel system clogging it up. You might have to pull the tank and have it cleaned out, then have your whole fuel system flushed out to solve the problem.1999 Tahoe fuel pump starter problem?
